NLC City Summit

Synopsis

L.A., a city of 470 square miles and more than 4 million residents and visitors is one the largest, densest cities in the world which provides unique challenges for the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) and Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD). As a result, each agency has adopted innovative, technological functions to serve Angelenos and provide a layer of protection across LA’s unique and varied landscape. You will learn how the LAFD uses mapping, technology, and metrics to reduce response times and how the LAPD uses advanced crime tracking tools to accurately and rapidly deploy response teams around the City, and much more. The tour will include stops at dispatch and communications centers to see and learn firsthand how data and technology can be utilized to protect our City.
